Upon arrival at Kagoshima Airport, coach transfer to Gamo Fumuro Samurai Residence Street (蒲生麓武家屋敷通り), an area that offers a glimpse into the life of Japan’s samurai era, with traditional architecture and preserved residences. Here, we will also visit the Gamo Hachiman Shrine (蒲生八幡神社), dedicated to the protection of the Gamo family, and marvel at Japan’s largest tree, a centuries-old monument. Next, we will head to Sengan-en (仙巌園), a beautifully landscaped Japanese garden that was once the villa of the Shimadzu family. The estate offers stunning views of Sakurajima, an active volcano, which is visible on clear days. Sengan-an is renowned for its peaceful surroundings, rich history and delicious Satsuma regional cuisine served at its restaurant. After lunch, we will make a photo stop at the Goromon gate (御楼門), one of the last remaining structures of the Kagoshima Castle ruins. This iconic gate provides a glimpse into the grandeur of the once-majestic castle, offering a sense of its historical significance. Following this, we will transfer to the hotel for check-in, where you will enjoy a traditional Kaiseki dinner.

After breakfast, we will board a ferry to Yakushima, an island known for its ancient cedar forests and stunning natural beauty. Upon arrival, you will enjoy a delicious Yakushima Gozen lunch at a local restaurant. Next, we will visit either Senpio Falls (千尋の滝), a majestic waterfall surrounded by lush greenery, or Yakusugi Land (屋久杉ランド), a preserved forest home to ancient Yakusugi cedars, where you will take a short hike through the serene landscape. Thereafter, we will transfer to the hotel for check-in and dinner [Kaiseki].

After breakfast, we will visit Okono Taki Falls (大川の滝), a beautiful and tranquil waterfall surrounded by lush nature, followed by a stop at Nagata Nakahama (永田いなか浜), a scenic area known for its picturesque landscapes and cultural significance. Next, we will enjoy lunch [Japanese Set] at a local restaurant before boarding a ferry to Ibusuki, a coastal town famous for its natural hot springs. Upon arrival, we will transfer to the hotel for check in and dinner [Kaiseki]. Tonight, you can indulge in a unique Sand Steam Bath experience at the hotel.

After breakfast at the hotel, we will transfer to Izumi Station and board the Hisatsu Orange Railway “Orange Restaurant” (おれんじ食堂) for a scenic ride to Shinyatsushiro where you will be treated to a special Sushi Course lunch aboard this charming sightseeing train. As you enjoy the meal, take in the picturesque views of the
countryside passing by. Upon arrival at Shin-Yatsushiro Station, we will visit Kumamoto Castle (熊本城), one of Japan’s most impressive and historic castles, known for its grand architecture and beautiful grounds. We will also explore Sakuranobaba Josaien (桜の馬場 城彩苑), a historic area near the castle that features a samurai-themed park, traditional buildings, and a chance to experience the local culture. Next, we will head to Shimotori Shopping Street (下通アーケード), where you will have theopportunity to enjoy dinner on your own, sampling the region’s cuisine or exploring local eateries. Finally, we will transfer to the hotel for check-in, where you can relax and unwind for the night.

This morning, we will begin our day with a visit to Kusasenrigahama (草千里ヶ浜), a vast, scenic grassland offering breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains, perfect for a relaxing walk or photo opportunities. Next, we will head to Aso Milk Factory (阿蘇牛奶工廠), where you will learn about local dairy production and enjoy a delicious lunch [Aso’s Pork Hamburger Set]. After lunch, we will visit the Daikanbo Lookout (大観峰), a stunning vantage point offering panoramic views of the Aso caldera and the surrounding volcanic landscape. Following this, we will transfer to the hotel for check in, where you can rest and refresh before heading out for dinner [Takachiho Beef Set] at a local restaurant. In the evening, we will take a short walk to enjoy a Kagura Performance at Kaguraden (神楽 ( かぐら) in the precincts of Takachiho Shrine, a traditional dance-drama depicting myths and legends of Japan. Afterward, we will return to the hotel to conclude our day.

This morning, we will begin with a visit to Takachiho Gorge, a picturesque spot famous for its dramatic cliffs and crystal-clear waters. You will have the chance to enjoy a peaceful walk along the gorge and take in the stunning natural beauty of this unique landscape. Next, we will head to Kuju Winery (くじゅうワイナリー), set against the backdrop of the majestic Kuju mountains, offering breathtaking views of rolling vineyards and lush greenery. Here, you will enjoy a delicious lunch [Pasta with a Selection of Appetizers], complemented by the winery’s own local wines, making for a perfect combination of flavours. After lunch, we will visit Umeshugura Oyama (梅酒蔵おおやま), which combines a boutiqueumeshuplum winery andume plum emporium, is heaven for any ume aficionado. Following this, we will transfer to Beppu to visit the famous Umijigoku Hell (海地獄) and Chinoike Jigoku Hell (血の池地獄), two of the iconic “Hells” in Beppu, renowned for their hot spring pools – one with striking blue waters and the other with vibrant, red-colored thermal pools. Finally, we will transfer to the hotel for check in and dinner [Buffet].
