Enjoy the serene beauty of this enchanting garden. Continue your journey toGero Onsen, one of Japan’s top three hot spring resorts. Visit the Gassho-Mura, a fascinating open-air museum showcasing traditional gassho-zukuri thatched-roof houses. Explore the local culture and history before heading to your accommodation. It is a beautifully preserved old town with many buildings and houses dating back to the feudal ages when it thrived as a wealthy merchant town. Explore the many old houses, shops, cafes and sake breweries that have been in business for centuries. Continue your journey to visit Takayama Morning Market (朝市).The Takayama Morning Market have stands that sell local crafts, snacks and farm produce such as vegetables, pickles and flowers. It is one of the largest morning markets in the country and dates back to over 300 years ago. Next, have lunch [Hida Beef Set]at a local restaurant before transferring to Kusakae Mingei-kan (日栄民芸館), a museum showcasing exquisite traditional Japanese folk crafts in Takayama that highlight the region’s artistic heritage. After that, transfer to Shirakawago and stroll around on your own at Shirakawago Village (白川郷). Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, they are famous for their traditional gassho-zukuri farmhouses, some of which are more than 250 years old.
